Christine German Ferris, DVM    

 

Dr. Ferris graduated, with honors, from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995.  She was the recepient of several academic awards during her studies, including the Ruth S. Fleming , Greater Fredericksburg Kennel , and the Florence E. Nocka Scholarships.  She was inducted into the Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society in her sophomore year.  In her senior year, Dr. Ferris was chosen as the Compassion and Caring Scholarship recepient for the graduating class.  She is a 1990 graduate of Virginia Tech with degrees in Animal Science and Biology.  While an undergraduate, she was inducted into the Phi Beta Honor Society.  Dr. Ferris was also a member of the Chi Delta Alpha Service Sorority. 

In 2001, Dr. Ferris founded Companion Pet Care Clinic.  She sits on the board for the Emergency Veterinary Services of Roanoke.  She is a member of the American Veterinary Association, as well as the Roanoke Valley Veterinary Association.  She is married (Richard) and has two step- children (Jeremy & Jacob).  Currently she has a Siberian Husky (Sasha) & two cats (Simba & Rose).  Horse-back riding, boating, and builiding & furnishing miniature doll-houses are some of her hobbies.  She calls St. John's Lutheran home.

 

Paula Williams, Office Manager (everything else)

Paula & Dr. Ferris have worked together for over 15 years.  Paula has the daunting task of keeping everyone & everything in order.  She lives with her husband (Jimmy) and has three wonderful children (Richard, Lisa, & Katy).  She is the proud Grandmother of two (Ceci & Jeremy). 

 

 

 Jenna Begley, Veterinary Technician

 Jenna recently graduated from Salem High School.  She will be attending Virginia Western to study Culinary Arts in the fall.  We are looking forward to being her guinea pigs (oink oink!).  Congratulations Jenna!!  Jenna has taken on more responsibility & is training as a veterinary technician.  You'll see her smiling face more often!
